Rockers it is my pleasure to introduce you to THE RUSE. Unlike other indie bands, this one is here to stay. They are not only talented, they are focused and know that to make it in what's left of the music industry you need something more than talent: You need a sense of humor.

The Ruse is currently working the LA music scene with high acclaim. Their sound combines rock, punk and pop with a sound similar to U2 and Coldplay. Midnight in the City has emotional lyrics and a great use of instrumentation. The overall sound is pretty mellow and easy on the ears with catchy rhythms that will leave you wanting more. The Ruse has recently been nominated for an MTV Video Music Award and has been featured on “The Hills” and “Entourage.” You won’t be disappointed with this album. (Four Stars) On The Ruse’s third studio offering, “Midnight in the City,” the band gives listeners more than they can chew on.

The Ruse has been a band that has been arriving since I spun their debut album and with "Midnight In The City" they have arrived, stamped down their feet, and will make those that haven't noticed them yet take notice. Great album!

Take a peek at your grocery store's magazine rack and you're bound to see some covers devoted to the hit MTV show "The Hills". It's obvious that this reality show is a true phenomenon, but did you know that LA-based band The Ruse has had 10 of their songs featured on the series? The Ruse formed in NYC in 2004, but relocated to LA in 2005. Since then they have released two self-produced albums, "Invasion" and "Light In Motion," and a live EP. They have also done four U.S. tours, and performed sold out shows at clubs on both coasts. The band is currently in the studio completing their third album, but their song "Everything Comes With A Price" has already gotten more than 700 plays on the New! Rock Charts.

Of all the submissions we have gotten, this band is by far the most impressive, at least in my humble opinion. Imagine a hybrid of U2 and Coldplay, with an amazingly polished sound for an unsigned band. If they aren’t on your radar yet, they should be.

The Ruse: Live at the Viper Room is a five song EP which includes one track from their debut album Invasion, two tracks from their last album, Light in Motion, and two previously unreleased tracks from their new album – they are currently recording and expect it out in early 2008.

Live at the Viper Room is a high energy live EP that perfectly showcases all The Ruse’s strong points: excellent musicianship, fabulous songs, and awe inspiring vocals.

As a testament to their popular appeal, their music has been featured in several episodes of MTVs eality show "The Hills". Needless to say, fans, exisitng and future, can expect a lot from The Ruse in the upcoming years. The tight-knit group performs well together on stage and seem to be in perfect harmony with each other.

We're doing something that's going to air in a couple of weeks with a band called "The Ruse". They are on the show because the cast goes to the Viper Room to see them. The band is performing live on the show, we’ll use two of their songs and we'll also be offering a download of their live song at MTV.com. They're great!

Shakira, taking a break from her summer studies to check out some music at the Viper Room in West Hollywood. The "Hips Don't Lie" singer was accompanied by pal (and No Doubt bassist) Tony Kanal – and the two watched up-and-coming band THE RUSE. Meanwhile, members of Maroon 5 had a guy's night, hanging out at a nearby booth."

The Ruse is a promising up-and-coming rock outfit and is sure to be around for a while. Their debut album will amaze listeners and surely make them fans for life.

For a band trying to make their music accessible to everyone they meet and playing with all their hearts, it's what the band really is that sets them apart from other bands trying to get their music heard: A group of four great friends playing as if no one's listening.

If you haven't already heard of the alternative rock band The Ruse, it's only a matter of time. The band, made up of lead singer John Dauer, guitarist Jim Bilus, drummer Jason Young and bassist Mark Stolze has been playing together since 2003 and independently released two albums.

Jim Blus, Jason Young, and John Dauer have been very close friends for over 12 years which is why when it comes to being in a band, traveling the country four times over with a fifth on its way, and almost three albums later there is no friction in their personal and artistic relationships...
