The Ruse- Midnight in the City
I’ve been obsessively listening to The Ruse for so long, I just figured everyone else knew them and loved them as much as I always have. And then I realized that most people I know haven’t even heard of The Ruse, despite the fact that they’ve made guest appearances on both The Hills and Entourage. And despite the fact that their music is the kind that you just can’t help but like. The band released Midnight in the City in November of 2008 and I’m pretty sure I’ve listened to it every day since; basically taking The Ruse with me everywhere I go. Sometimes The Ruse makes me want to sit back, shut my eyes and immerse myself in their perfectly blissful harmonies. And sometimes I take The Ruse with me on the treadmill and they somehow effortlessly carry me through the miles. The most versatile of music, “Sit Down Stare Out” is a favorite track of mine…maybe because it talks about both daydreaming and running. Let 2009 be the year you discover The Ruse
